Description
A hand-thrown terracotta volume for the home that is both an occasional table and a stool, or whatever the user decides it is.
Philippe Malouin was inspired during the months of lockdown by the view from his third floor North London flat. He saw an endless sea of terracotta chimney stacks spreading forth before him. He took to appropriating and developing this still modern looking shape into a domestic object that has no set function. This upright and basic form is significantly weighty in terracotta, the design features two rectangular openings near the top, so it can be moved around the home. It also gently references the familiarity of the postbox.
