Tembo was originally part of the Marginal notes exhibition held by Note design studio collective as a creative stunt. The concept was to produce in real life the various doodles and ‘marginal notes’ that the members of the group had in their notebook, however crazy they might be.
Needless to say that at the time, Note design studio was a polyvalent creative team working in various medias industries, but that they had never designed any furniture. The exhibition was a great success and a dozen pieces were presented. The colorful and sculptural creations were to define Note’s identity and originated their career as one of the main player in nowadays Nordic design scene.
