For the Hangzhou EIC Apartment, HBA curated a space that "blends modern, intelligent elements to create an open, inviting space catered to a global elite lifestyle."
The design prioritizes "fluid transitions" that allow for a seamless flow between social and private zones. By harmonizing architectural grandeur with intimate comfort, HBA delivers a "truly memorable experience" where "timeless design and innovative functionality culminate in opulent, tailored living."
In the open-plan living and dining area, HBA selected three Metropol pendants by the Australian brand Rakumba to illuminate the breakfast bar. Designed by Sebastian Herkner, this choice is a triumph of architectural alignment.
The interior architecture features strong vertical lines, evident in the floor-to-ceiling windows and the timber-slatted wall panels. The Metropol’s clean, tubular metal silhouette mirrors these vertical elements, creating a sense of rhythm and order. Against the backdrop of cool marble and warm wood, the fixture acts as a refined industrial counterpoint, adding a touch of metropolitan sharpness to the space.
Moving to the private quarters, the narrative shifts to "opulent, tailored living." Here, the Gem Pendant Vertical 07 by Giopato & Coombes transforms the bedside into a sanctuary.

Inspired by the "To the Moon and Back" journey, the Gem pendant features hand-blown glass that mimics the texture of stardust. This piece perfectly captures the "timeless design" ethos HBA aimed for—it is not merely a light, but a sculpture that transcends trends, adding a layer of material purity to the warm, textural bedroom palette.
