Showcasing a harmonious collaboration between P. Tang Studio and via architecture limited, this luxury residential project in Mount Pokfulam perfectly interprets the aesthetic of "Contemporary Elegance."
The design softens architectural structures with fluid curvilinear lines and layers rich visual textures through the delicate splicing of exotic materials such as stone, metal, and leather. In such a detailed and textured space, lighting serves not merely a functional need but acts as the soul that defines the spatial atmosphere.
Upon entering the residence, the visual journey begins at the grand staircase, where the soaring ceiling plays host to the spectacular "Sand & Sea" composition by Haberdashery. This bespoke sculptural installation captures the organic rhythm of nature, with delicate forms appearing to float like rolling waves or shifting dunes suspended in mid-air. The play of light across the mixed textures creates a dynamic yet soothing visual flow, perfectly softening the angular lines of the staircase and setting an artistic, luxurious tone for the entire home.
Moving into the collection room, which features a sophisticated dark color palette, the design team utilized extensive vertical tubal wall padding to stretch the vertical height of the space and create a sense of steady privacy. To echo this strong linear vocabulary while breaking the rigidity of the hard finishes, the design team selected the Ceto Vertical Chandelier from the Australian design brand Ross Gardam.
The vertical structure of the Ceto Vertical resonates perfectly with the wall lines, reinforcing the high ceilings. However, the unique "ripple effect" created by its mouth-blown glass introduces an organic sense of flow to the linear space, softening the visual boundaries like ripples on a calm surface.
Transitioning to the Master Bedroom, the atmosphere shifts to brightness and luxury. Here, a grand Four-poster bed takes center stage, backed by symmetrical white fluted wall panels. In a space filled with matrices and linear frames, the lighting's role is to introduce "softness" and "ornamentation." To achieve this, the design team selected the Cirque Chandelier from the Italian brand Giopato & Coombes.
The signature circular structure of the Cirque series visually breaks the boxy rigidity of the four-poster bed frame and the wall grilles. The rounded lines act like elegant punctuation marks, regulating the spatial rhythm and bringing a more comfortable, relaxed visual experience.
Contrasting with the steadiness of the Ross Gardam piece, the Cirque features Brushed Brass paired with textured transparent glass tubes. Suspended above the nightstand, it forms a "frame within a frame" composition within the bed's structure, resembling a pair of exquisite earrings or jewelry floating in mid-air. Its crystal-clear light effect injects a "Glamorous Lightness" into the bedroom, complementing the elegant tone of the master suite.
The Mount Pokfulam project demonstrates how excellent interior design and professional FF&E support complement each other. From the artistic fluidity of Haberdashery at the entrance to the sculptural forms of Ross Gardam and the jewelry-like presence of Giopato & Coombes in the private quarters, the lighting plays a key role in defining the distinct atmospheres of different rooms. Archetypal is proud to support the collaborative vision of P. Tang Studio and via architecture limited with these exceptional lighting pieces, satisfying the ultimate pursuit of detail and elevating the living experience for the residents.
