First seen as a preview at this years Milan Furniture Fair, the latest launch features two new series of seats by London-based industrial designer Tim Rundle.

Contemporary Australian design brand, SP01, known for its beautifully detailed and hand-finished furniture, is delighted to launch designs by London-based designer Tim Rundle.

“Working with experts in furniture technology and craftsmanship in North-East Italy, the spiritual home of chair making, we have developed new additions to the Tim Rundle x SP01 collection, which was first launched in 2017. Michelle Chair & Stool

Building on the success of last year’s Michelle mirror series, Tim Rundle has developed the visual language of the arc to create seating that is an exercise in architectural geometry.  Michelle is available with a high and low back and as a very cute little stool. 

Based on the arch theme that defined the mirror series, the Michelle seating collection is an exercise in pure, almost architectural geometry. On its own, Michelle is a subtle statement of an occasional chair; in multiples, the dining chairs and stools or both, the arched back frame becomes and an element of an ordered group that references the classical colonnades.

Caristo Dining Chair

The new Caristo dining chair is a distillation of Tim Rundle’s Caristo lounge chair which was an instant hit when launched in 2017. Available in a range of upholstered finishes or lacquered plywood, it’s an elemental dining or work seat that has the added advantage of being stackable.

Building on the success of the Caristo lounge chairs, the dining chair variant takes the form of a familiar typology; its lineage appeared in the expressive ‘crushed tube-form’ bracket detail borrowed from its bigger sibling. Available in both upholstered and bare plywood options, the Caristo dining chair makes will make itself comfortable in a variety of environments. It also has the added benefit of being stackable.

Michelle and Caristo chairs by Tim Rundle will be available from September.
