“A Bold Launch” – Formar Unveils Exquisite New Collection

Last Thursday(14 March 2024), Archetypal partnered with Formar to host the "A Bold Launch" private viewing at the Blue Room of Soho House Hong Kong. This marked the first time Formar's brand new BOLD collection, designed by Ming Design Studio, was unveiled in Hong Kong.

During the evening, we had the privilege of getting an up-close look at the exquisite craftsmanship and sleek design lines of the BOLD pieces. We also previewed the latest stone material options being added to Formar's existing product ranges.

In addition to the BOLD collections, the event showcased Formar's other signature collections, including Atlas, Carv, Folio, and iO, allowing guests to experience the brand's diverse design language and journey.

It was an honour to have the founders of both Formar and Ming Design Studio in attendance. They shared insights into their studio ethos and the inspiration behind the BOLD collection's design philosophy.

The BOLD stools represent a renewed interpretation of materiality, meant to be touched and used. "BOLD" may seem like a simple oriental symbol, but is intricately tied to cultural objects meant to be possessed and passed down through generations. A tangible, evocative piece that requires no magic formula, instead letting its modern aesthetics shine in our age of reproduction.
